Risk & Compliance recruitment

Risk and compliance appointments need a precise understanding of the organisation, its obligations and the authority attached to the role. We establish that context before starting a search.

A CLOSER LOOK

Clear responsibility. Proper support.

A risk or compliance role needs more explanation than a reference to 'ownership' in a job description. The person considering it needs to know what falls within their remit, how concerns are raised and whether the organisation gives them the support to do the work properly.

We discuss appointments across risk, compliance, controls and governance, including senior leadership requirements. The relevant sector experience, reporting relationships and any essential qualifications or approvals are agreed with the employer. We want the brief to explain the actual work and authority, rather than leave both sides to make assumptions.

01

Clarify the responsibility

We ask which risks, controls or compliance activities the person will own, how the function is structured and who they report to. Required qualifications, sector experience and any regulatory approval should be specified in the brief.

02

Look at the support around the role

A job description should explain the resources available and how concerns are raised and acted on. Candidates need to understand their remit and influence; employers need to understand the relevance of the experience being recommended.

03

Discuss the appointment

We work with employers and candidates on permanent, contract and senior appointments. Tell us about the requirement or the work you want to move towards. Our base is Northern Ireland and our recruitment work covers the UK and Ireland.

FOR EMPLOYERS

If you need to strengthen the function

We will ask which responsibilities the person will hold, who they report to and what the appointment needs to achieve. We also discuss the team, systems and advice available. A considered brief helps identify relevant experience and makes it easier to explain the opportunity to someone who may not be actively looking. Permanent, contract and senior requirements can all be discussed.

FOR CANDIDATES

If you are considering an opportunity

We will talk through the remit, the organisation and the questions you need answered about authority and support. You may be looking for a broader role, a clearer specialism or a different environment. Tell us what matters to you. We will explain what is known about the opportunity and help clarify important points before you decide whether to proceed.
