Legal recruitment

A legal appointment needs a clear brief about the work, the clients or internal stakeholders and the level of responsibility. We help both sides look beyond the title when considering an introduction.

A CLOSER LOOK

A clearer picture of the practice and the work

The matters someone will handle, the clients or colleagues they support and the supervision available can matter as much as the title of a legal role. We want candidates to understand what they would be joining, and employers to understand the experience behind a recommendation.

We support recruitment across legal support, fee-earning and in-house roles, with senior appointments discussed against the particular brief. The practice area, level of responsibility and any qualification or jurisdiction requirements are established with the employer. We do not assume that experience in one setting automatically translates to another.

01

Be specific about the work

We ask about practice area, the matters someone will handle, supervision and the balance of responsibilities. Relevant qualifications and any jurisdiction-specific requirements should be established by the employer rather than assumed from a title.

02

Consider the working environment

The team, workload, working arrangements and access to support can all influence a decision to move. We discuss those questions alongside experience and salary so candidates have a clearer picture of the opportunity.

03

A considered introduction

If you are hiring, tell us the experience you need and where there is room to develop. If you are considering a move, tell us what you want from the work and the workplace. Based in Northern Ireland, we support recruitment across the UK and Ireland.

FOR EMPLOYERS

If you are looking to appoint

We will discuss the type of work, the experience needed and the team around the role. That includes workload, supervision, client contact and what the person will be expected to take on independently. Where a search needs to be handled confidentially, we agree how information is shared. The aim is an informed introduction, with the important questions understood before interview.

FOR CANDIDATES

If you are thinking about moving

You may want a different mix of work, a move in-house or more room to develop. You may simply be ready for a better working environment. We will listen to what is prompting the conversation and discuss suitable opportunities without assuming you have already decided to leave. You should understand the role and agree to an introduction before your details are shared.
